WordPress Hosting Compared: Managed WordPress Plans in 2026

WordPress runs on almost any web host, but WordPress hosting as a product means a stack tuned for it: caching built in, backups and often updates handled for you. We track 95 dedicated WordPress plans from 22 providers, next to the shared plans most people run WordPress on. The table below ranks every host by our DHH Score, and prices refresh every few hours.

WordPress hosting in 2026: the market at a glance

There are two kinds of WordPress hosting in this list. WordPress-branded shared plans are regular shared hosting with WordPress pre-installed and a caching plugin; they start at a few dollars a month and renew much higher. Managed WordPress platforms — Namecheap's EasyWP, DreamHost's DreamPress, HostPapa's MWP plans and xCloud — sell WordPress as a service: the host tunes the server for it and takes on more of the maintenance, and the price reflects that. Right now the lowest first-term price for a WordPress plan in our tracker is WooCommerce Hosting Professional at Turbify, $0.99 a month.

Every price on this page comes from the same tracker that fills the table below and follows the currency switcher at the top of the page.

What you get for the premium

  • Backups: DreamHost includes daily backups on DreamPress, SiteGround keeps daily backups for 30 days on every plan, ChemiCloud runs daily off-site backups, and xCloud backs up servers and sites daily.
  • Caching and web server: GreenGeeks and ChemiCloud run LiteSpeed with LSCache; SiteGround adds its own caching layer on Google Cloud.
  • Staging and developer tools: SiteGround includes staging from GrowBig and Git from GoGeek, with SSH and WP-CLI on every plan.
  • Support: GreenGeeks, SiteGround, HostPapa, IONOS and Turbify answer the phone around the clock; DreamHost and ChemiCloud support you through chat and tickets.

The renewal trap

WordPress-branded shared plans carry the same promo pricing as regular shared hosting: IONOS's Grow starts at $1.00 and renews at $12.00, Gandi's WordPress Hosting Essential goes from $2.00 to $15.00, and ChemiCloud's WordPress Starter from $1.95 to $11.95. Some managed platforms price flat — Namecheap's EasyWP Starter renews at $9.88, and xCloud's Newcomer costs $5.00 and renews at $5.00 — while DreamHost's DreamPress 1 still goes from $11.99 to $24.99.

Shared plan, managed platform or a VPS?

A single blog or brochure site runs well on a good shared plan with NVMe and LiteSpeed caching — see our shared hosting comparison. Busy WooCommerce stores and membership sites benefit from managed WordPress, where the host tunes the server for WordPress and handles more of the maintenance. Agencies running dozens of sites often do better with a VPS and a server panel: xCloud's free panel tier manages one server and up to ten sites at no cost, and its managed plans start at $5.00 a month. Compare servers in our VPS comparison.

FAQ

What is the cheapest WordPress hosting right now?

In our live tracker the lowest first-term price for a WordPress plan is WooCommerce Hosting Professional at Turbify: $0.99 a month. Introductory prices like this renew higher, so compare the renewal rate in the sample table above before you prepay.

What is managed WordPress hosting?

Managed WordPress hosting is hosting built only for WordPress: the provider tunes the server for it and takes on more of the maintenance, such as backups, caching and often core updates, so you can focus on the site. It costs more than a WordPress-branded shared plan, and the exact scope differs by host, so check what each plan includes.

Do I need managed WordPress hosting for a small site?

Usually not. A blog or a brochure site runs well on a good shared plan with NVMe storage, a caching stack and daily backups. Managed hosting pays off for busy stores, membership sites and anyone who wants the host to handle the maintenance.

Is WordPress hosting different from regular shared hosting?

Often only in name. Many WordPress plans are shared hosting with WordPress pre-installed and a caching plugin, priced and renewed like shared hosting. Managed platforms such as EasyWP, DreamPress or xCloud are a different product with their own pricing.

Which WordPress hosts include daily backups?

DreamHost includes daily backups on DreamPress, SiteGround keeps daily backups for 30 days on every plan, ChemiCloud runs daily off-site backups and xCloud backs up servers and sites daily. Elsewhere backups can be weekly or a paid add-on, so check before you rely on them.

How do you measure uptime?

The Uptime 30d column is our own measurement: we request each provider's website every few minutes from our monitoring server and average the last 30 days. It reflects how well a company runs its own infrastructure, not the uptime of your site, and no provider pays to rank.
